PANCH RATHA AT MAHABALIPURAM - A CONNECTION TO MAHABHARATHA? Cut out from a stone monument (single stone), the Panch Rathas at Mahabalipuram are some of best instances of stone cut sanctuaries. Worked in the seventh century AD during the rule of Pallava ruler Narsimhavarman I, they are today an UNESCO world legacy Site as a major aspect of Mahabalipuram accumulation of sanctuaries.
